Selina Tan Hui Shan

Hello! I am Selina Tan, a SUTD Global Distinguished Scholar majoring in Computer Science and Design at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) with a minor in Design, Technology and Society.

I hold a Diploma in Computer Engineering with Merit in Temasek Polytechnic. With recognition of my technical skills and leadership skills, I was awarded the Edusave Skills Award and Temasek Polytechnic CCA Merit (Leadership) Award.

Due to my polytechnic experience in a wide array of sectors from hardware to software development, AI and Machine Learning, intelligent automation as well as researching and prototyping medical devices, I am very interested in learning new things related to constructing circuits (EEE) as well as programming. I have had experience in many programming languages such as Python, Java, C, C#, JavaScript, CSS, HTML and databases, mainly in developing software. In addition, I have experience in coding Arduino using C++ and electronics to build a functional prototype (Ardune).

While studying in SUTD, I have gained more advanced skills in web development such as using React.js, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, Ant Design. I have also had a more in depth learning of AI and Machine Learning.

In addition, I believe that having soft skills such as communication, teamwork, project management, and adaptability are also as important as technical skills. Hence, I will continue to maintain and improve on my soft skills.

My goal is to develop intelligent systems and software applications to assist users in having access to a better and more convenient lifestyle.
